That said, our kinda-son (Erin's former fiance, Mike) is shipping out to Iraq this month, so it's all personal for us. Just like Vietnam was, cause Trav and I are of an age where we saw folks go and not come back.

I respectfully ask for all good thoughts/prayers/whatever you do for Mike. If there's any interest, I'll post his APO address when I have it.

Trav I love ya, Brother, but the trait- ERRRRR Confederates lost that war the moment the first shell was fired on Ft. Sumter. Just like the Japanese lost the moment the first bomb fell on Pearl Harbor. Quality can overcome quantity up to a certain threshold; but eventually, the numbers do win out.

And if I can go further off-topic....and don't get me wrong, I'm very happily married and I love my wife dearly. But way back in my singles days, when I used to come onto the board and bitch about how chicks never even noticed me, and I asked and asked if anyone knew anyone who might be interested in the LewMan....Gae never once, not even hypothetically, mentioned Erin's name to me. I'm not saying anything would have developed, I'm just saying I was kinda hurt that Gae was hiding Erin from me like I was a used car salesman. All this while Jumper made his comments about her AND HE WAS ALREADY MARRIED. Now, like I said, it all turned out for the best in the end, but we didn't know that at the time.

OK back on topic...yeah, I think it's better that Zarqawi is no longer around. Yes I think it's better to catch these guys and keep them in prison, if possible, but it's not like we were going to be catching this guy. Yes he's a martyr, yes there's more where he came from, but we're still better off without him.

I tried to foist daughter Erin on GL; he ran like the wind. Craig and Mrs. Craig met her and we all know what happened there.

Oh, Mrs. Lew and I are wonderful, there's been no kicking to the curb. And I don't fault you for steering her towards GL first; he's more intelligent than I am, he's certainly better looking, he's got more style (although in my own defense, at she wouldn't have had to ride with me in a car that didn't sit on its chasis right and sounded like a teapot ready to explode).
